Hey, I'm Nicholas Dvorak,
A photographer whose journey has taken me from the Midwest to the Pacific Northwest. Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, I cut my teeth with portrait photography in Spokane before settling in Seattle. From portraits to products, I love incorporating the feel of film into all of my work.
There's something special about film. The way it softens colors and tones, making photos feel more like memories than just images. It's that feeling I'm always chasing, whether I'm shooting with my Mom's old Pentax K1000 or the latest Sony DSLR.
My portfolio is a mix of old-school and new-school. I use digital techniques to recreate effects like halation, blooming, and softer color palettes – all nods to the timeless charm of film. It's not about being stuck in the past; it's about bringing that warmth and nostalgia into the present.
I've been lucky enough to shoot across some pretty diverse environments, from Iowa's rolling fields to the rugged beauty of Eastern Washington, and now the urban-meets-nature playground of Seattle. Each place has left its mark on how I see the world through my lens.
Now that I've made Seattle my home, I'm eager to connect with clients and collaborators who appreciate the unique characteristics of film-inspired photography. If you're in the area and are drawn to this aesthetic, I'd be delighted to discuss how we can work together to capture some timeless memories.
